Before your treatment

• As this is an intramuscular injection there may be a dull ache. (The muscle lies deep, so numbing cream has limited effect and cooling anaesthesia is used instead.)
• You may wash your face and wear make-up from 2 hours after the treatment.
• Injections may cause bruising or swelling, but this is temporary and nothing to worry about.
• Botulinum toxin can be combined with most other treatments.
• Resistance to botulinum toxin is uncommon with aesthetic treatment, so there is no need for concern.
• How far expression lines soften can vary with individual sensitivity to botulinum toxin.
• Swimming and yoga are possible straight away.
