Treatment steps

2 Numbing cream applied
3 Injection
Recommended interval
Every 3 to 6 months; a standard dose of 50u is recommended
Before your treatment
- As this is an intramuscular injection there may be a dull ache. (The muscle lies deep, so numbing cream has limited effect and cooling anaesthesia is used instead.)
- You may wash your face and wear make-up from 2 hours after the treatment.
- Injections may cause bruising or swelling, but this is temporary and nothing to worry about.
- Botulinum toxin can be combined with most other treatments.
- Resistance to botulinum toxin is uncommon with aesthetic treatment, so there is no need for concern.
- Swimming and yoga are possible straight away.
