PicoSure is a pigment laser that fires energy in picoseconds — trillionths of a second. The pulse is so short that less heat builds up in the surrounding skin, and the pigment is broken into fine particles and cleared. It is used for deep pigment and refractory melasma that ordinary toning does not shift. The device is approved by the US FDA and the Korean MFDS.

Before your treatment
- Redness or swelling of the face may occur after the treatment. It usually disappears within a few hours; if it lasts several days, please come in to see us.
- For a week afterwards it is best to avoid anything that irritates the skin, such as cold or hot compresses and saunas.
- Please refrain from strenuous exercise after the treatment.
- The skin may become dry after the treatment. Calming care with a moisturiser or recovery cream is recommended.
- It is best to avoid sunlight after laser treatment. Please apply sunscreen carefully when going outdoors.
- Rash, inflammation or pigmentation may occur in some individuals.

Q. Prices and devices differ between clinics — what is the difference?
There are many kinds of picosecond laser, domestic and imported, so devices and programmes differ between clinics. At present the only 755 nm PicoSure laser is the one made by Cynosure in the United States. Pico toning at Zero Lab Clinic uses the PicoSure laser.
Q. Does PicoSure toning leave scabs on the face?
PicoSure toning responds to pigment deep in the dermis, so scabbing of surface pigment is very unlikely and the treatment does not disrupt daily life.
Q. Can I wash my face and wear make-up after PicoSure toning?
Yes, both washing and make-up are possible after PicoSure toning.
