Vaccine for the prevention of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) * Gardasil 9 is a procedure exempt from VAT.

Procedure Description

Gardasil 9 is a vaccine for the prevention of cervical cancer caused by HPV and covers 9 types of HPV. * The 9-valent HPV vaccine includes HPV types 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, and 58. 1st dose - (2 months later) - 2nd dose - (4 months later) - 3rd dose * All three doses must be completed within one year.

Precautions

Symptoms such as headache and fever may occur, so please take sufficient rest after vaccination.

Keep the injection site clean and apply a waterproof bandage to prevent water from touching the injection site before showering.

Please refrain from drinking alcohol and hot spring baths for about a week due to the risk of inflammation.

After the Gardasil injection, it is rare to experience symptoms such as itching or redness and swelling of the body. These symptoms are not serious, and if you experience significant itching, taking antihistamines can help alleviate the symptoms.

Local reactions: pain, swelling, redness, hives, etc. at the injection site.

Systemic reactions: fever, nausea, muscle pain, etc.

FAQ

Is Gardasil® required to be administered in 3 doses?

Yes, it is recommended to administer 3 doses. The efficacy was proven in clinical trials of Gardasil when all 3 doses were completed within 1 year. However, for those aged 9 to 13, a 2-dose schedule (0, 6 months) can be followed.

Can the vaccination schedule for Gardasil® be changed?

According to the domestic approval guidelines for Gardasil®, it is advisable to follow the vaccination schedule of 2 months and 6 months after the initial vaccination date. If a change in the vaccination schedule is unavoidable, the second dose should be administered at least 1 month after the first dose, and the third dose should be administered at least 3 months after the second dose. However, all 3 doses must be completed within 1 year.

Is Gardasil® only available for women?

We recommend vaccination for both women and men. Gardasil® is a 9-valent HPV* vaccine that can be administered to both genders starting from the age of 9.
